Professor Song Zhang

Song Zhang is a the Assistant Head for Experiential Learning, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Purdue Faculty Scholar, and co-founder and CTO of VE Optics Inc. He serves as an associate editor for Optics and Lasers in Engineering and Optics Express. He is a Fellow of ASME, OSA and SPIE.

Yi-Hong Liao

Yi Hong received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, in 2019. He joined the XYTZ lab team in 2019 with experience in control and robotics. He’s currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on 3D imaging, microrobotics control and optics. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing badminton, watching baseball, and spending time with friends.

Liming Chen

Liming received his B.S. in Measurement & Control Technology from Hefei University of Technology(HFUT) and his M.S. in Instrumentation Science and Technology from University of Science and Technology of China(USTC). He also worked in Hisilicon as an ASIC design and verification engineer for 2 years. He joined the XYZT Lab in 2020 to pursue his Ph.D. degree. His research interests include 3D imaging, computational photography and computer vision.

Michael Goldberg

Michael Goldberg is a sophomore from California pursuing both a Bachelor's and a Master's in Mechanical Engineering, as well as a minor in Computer Science. He joined the XYZT Lab team in 2021 to research his interest areas which include 3D printing, 3D vision, autonomous systems, and control architecture. In his free time, he likes to code, spend time with friends, and is currently building a startup aiming to make 3D printed autonomous food delivery drones for college campuses.

William Keller

William received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University – Idaho in 2021. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. and joined the XYZT lab in 2021. His research focus areas include mechatronics, control of dynamic systems, and image processing. In his free time he enjoys mountain biking, camping, and spending time with family.

Yuchen Yang

Yuchen received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. He also worked at Vector Informatik GmbH as a measurement and calibration software engineer for 4 years. He joined the XYZT Lab in 2021 to pursue his Ph.D degree. His research interest includes 3D imaging, Computer Vision, and corresponding applications in AR/VR.

Jack Girard

Jack Girard received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The Colorado School of Mines in 2021. He is currently pursuing his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. Jack joined the XYZT Lab in 2022 to pursue his research interests in optical technologies, control systems, and hardware-software interfacing. In his free time, he likes to read books, watch sports, and spend time with friends or family.

Jack Walsh

Jack is a junior pursuing a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Business Economics. He joined the XYZT lab in Fall 2022 to explore 3D Imaging technology with interests in mechanical design and hardware-software integration. On campus he is the President of Purdue ASME's student chapter, a mentor for ME 290, and enjoys being outside and spending time with friends.

Zhiheng Yin

Zhiheng received his B.S. in Electric and Computer Engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU) and his B.S. in Computer Engineering from University of Michigan (UM). He received his M.S. in Signal & Image processing & Machine learning from the University of Michigan. He joined the XYZT Lab in Summer 2023 to pursue his Ph.D. degree. His research interests include 3D vision, computer vision and deep learning.

Wang Xiang

Wang received his B.S. in Mathematics & Applied Mathematics his M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Zhejiang University. He joined the XYZT Lab in 2022 to pursue his Ph.D. degree. His research interests include 3D imaging, photogrammetry and computer graphics.
